BFW16 Douglas Gibson

Douglas Gibson, editor and publisher turned author and performer:

After more than 40 years as what the Globe and Mail called “a publishing icon,” Douglas Gibson wrote a book about his life as a publisher, Stories About Storytellers: Publishing Alice Munro, Robertson Davies, Alistair MacLeod, Pierre Trudeau and Others. The paperback edition, released in spring 2014, includes the Storytellers Book Club — intriguing and insightful questions about five celebrated Canadian works of fiction, including Alistair MacLeod’s No Great Mischief. Gibson has turned this bestselling book into a stage show, which he has presented across Canada more than 70 times, in all 10 provinces. Gibson’s next book, Across Canada by Story, was published by ECW Press in Fall 2015.
